Cassidy Gold finds 2.51 gpt gold in Kouroussa hole
Mr. James Gillis reports
CASSIDY GOLD CORP.: GOLD IN SODYANFE RC, KOUROUSSA GOLD PROJECT
Cassidy Gold Corp. has released results of continuing reverse circulation (RC) drilling on its
100-per-cent-owned Kouroussa property in Guinea, West Africa. Cassidy has completed two fences
of short, RC-type holes across the Sodyanfe soil geochemical anomaly, and is currently drilling
a third. This release highlights results from the first fence of holes.
The first and northernmost fence of holes across Sodyanfe stretches 825 metres southwest to
northeast. Four distinct zones of gold mineralization were encountered over a distance of
approximately 330 metres, including 66 metres of low-grade mineralization averaging 0.60 gram
per tonne Au in KRC380. Three other higher-grade zones were also intersected, including 2.51
grams per tonne Au over six metres in KRC385, 2.42 grams per tonne Au over seven metres in
KRC388 and 2.79 grams per tonne Au over six metres in KRC393. Both KRC385 and KRC393 terminated
in the mineralized zones.
These results appear to confirm Sodyanfe as a large, near-surface and moderate-grade target.
Two additional fences, 250 metres and 500 metres to the south, respectively, will test the
assumed strike extent of mineralization.
Two fences have been completed across the Sodyanfe zone and a third should be completed in a
few days. A last fence of holes has been completed to test the projected northern trends of the
Sanu Filanan, JJ and KD-1 zones.
Targeted resource drilling will begin next week using both diamond and RC drills. Diamond
drilling is scheduled to resume May 3. Priority targets include north and west extensions to
the Sanu Filanan, the south extension of the JJ, the KD-1 and Sodyanfe zones. Additional
reconnaissance drilling is contemplated for Kinkine and Mani and soil geochemical surveys
continue to the north around Benegban.
Sampling and Assay Procedures
RC samples were collected from the cyclone and split or pipe sampled to one-kilogram size. All
samples were sent to Abilab Afrique de l'Ouest in Bamako, Mali, for fire assay using a 50-gram
subsample. High-grade samples were checked by reassaying the same pulp. A gravimetric finish
was used on all samples assaying over 10 grams per tonne Au and some samples assaying over four
grams per tonne Au. Several high values were checked by taking a second split from the sample
rejects and fire assaying with both AAS and gravimetric finishes.
Personnel
The exploration team in Guinea consists of project manager Marc-Andre Boudreau, BSc, Marthe
Archambault, MSc, PGeo, and Maxime Dupere, BSc. Christopher Wild, PEng, vice-president,
exploration, for Cassidy Gold, is currently on the site and is the qualified person for this
release.
